I wanna make love in this club, in this club, in this club.
I swear they play that Usher song more than once an hour on the radio station my teen daughter likes.
It came on the other night while Reagan and I were in the car and I tried to catch all the lyrics. Not only does Usher want to “make love in this club,” he wants to do it on the floor and in the bathroom.
Reagan’s question:
In the men’s, by the latrines? Ick! Or in the women’s, in a stall?
My response:
Um, Rea, really either would be “ick!” Because having sex in a club would not be “making love,” it would be indecent exposure.

Gutter music.
Salutations from the Ghetto Nation.

Yes Vonster….those wipper-snappers and their crazy music, the hip gyrating and sexy clothes, why, when I was a kid we listened to REAL music…
Jen, what about “duffel bag boy” or “Apple Bottom jeans”….the lyrics are all pretty goofy.

Actually, doing it in the bathroom isn’t so bad…. until the plunger falls over and hits you on the mouth. Even if it is the handle, dude, poop splashes.
As for Vonster, allow me to translate:
“Black music.
Salutations from the Jobless N*****s.”
Before you roll your eyes, notice how he never has anything nice to say about a black person, ever. The only time they’re mentioned is when he has something to complain about.

While you might think that song is “ghetto culture” I would be more likely to call it “pop culture.” And naysayers always seem to think “pop culture,” whether it be Elvis, the Beatles or the Doors, is leading us to hell in a handbasket. I think terming it “ghetto culture” is taking it a step further though, and using a common phenemenon (each generation wanting to shock the previous) to denigrate people based on race/culture.

Vonster’s idea of good music involves clarinets and guys named Lawrence.

I am impressed she called them “latrines”. Is it indecent exposure if you do it in the single person bathroom at Starbucks and you two are the only ones in there and the door is locked?
