Goals
Last night my husband said:
“I was thinking about goals and I have come up with one. I would like to go to Monte Carlo to see the Formula One race in two or three years. I’d like to stay at a really nice hotel and go to the casino and be able to blow $500 without worrying about it.”
My response:
“Oh, I’d like to pay for the kids to go to college, so I hope you can turn that $500 into $500,000.”
It didn’t strike me until I was recounting this to my co-workers that, nowhere in the Monte Carlo fantasy goal was I mentioned.
Hmmm… a bad sign or mere oversight?

I guess some guys have different aspirations than others… but just to give him a break, I have goal to break 70 again (in golf) but really, my goal is to raise some good kids.
I’d also like to go to Venice before I die, but I don’t see that as a goal. Maybe he’s confusing goals with wishes.

I’d like to stop living check to check before I die. That would be a good start.

MM-me too! Lately it’s been more, “Hey, what bills can we pay this month?” which is actually worse then our previous “pay all the bills and then broke” manner of living…
PI-Hmmm.. yes, you may be right, “wishes” might be more accurate…
And I guess I should be glad, that while he didn’t mention me, he didn’t let some other chick’s name drop… (just joking, my hubby may have his faults, but he’s loyal!)

Oh, IDNKM, are you a fan, too? My husband will literally get up at 3 or 4 in the morning to watch the races. Too bad there isn’t a cool nickname for Formula1 race fans… like Manilow fans are Fanilows and nascar fans are rednecks!
(Just joking about that last part. My dad is a huge Nascar fan. That’s what gives me a right to joke about it.)
